James Hargest College

About Us
If you’re looking for study abroad experience in a high performing school, with experience in International Education - you’re looking in the right place! James Hargest College is located in the Southernmost city of New Zealand; Invercargill. We are a small, friendly city of around 50,000 people, located close to iconic New Zealand destinations such as Queenstown, Fiordland and Stewart Island.
Our location makes us the ideal place for experiences; we have world-class facilities just minutes away from our campus. Invercargill is home to one of only two indoor velodromes in New Zealand, where many prestigious events are hosted and international records set. We also have two highly competitive rowing clubs just fifteen minutes drive away. We are close to hiking, skiing, adventure, racing and sightseeing. Whether you enjoy these activities with your host family or with the school, the opportunities are endless.
Our school has around 1900 students, spread across two campuses (catering for students aged 10-18 Years old). We have an experienced and dedicated International department who will work closely with you and your family from the enrolment process, through to pre-arrival, orientation and settling you into life with your host family and new school. We are onhand 24/7 for support and look forward to welcoming you to James Hargest College!
